About
Nilsebu is one of the cabin closest to town and is perfect for an evening getaway with some friends. The cabin was built in the early ’60s by Jan Arne Gerhardsen, a former carpenter at ‘Kongsfjord satellitt-telemetristasjon’, and some of his friends. It was belived that parts of the cabin was originaly built during the first mining period, but Jan Arne has denied this outragous myth. There was however some older material used in the cabin that could have originated from this period. in ’73-’74 the cabin was renovated by another carpenter at the satelitt-telemetristasjon, Nils Nilsen. My guess is that this guy is also the originator of it’s name, but what do I know. The cabin has been renovaited again pretty recently, but the name seems to stick.
