About 4 km south east of town you find Gåsebu. The cabin was built in ’58-’59 by initiative from the womens assosiation of Ny-Ålesund, «Polarklokken». Several people assisted the building, Arthur og Ingebjør Johansen, Jens Breimo, Oskar Bye og Agnar Remmen was some of them. During spring 2011, Kjell Grostad lost his mind completly during the yearly cleaning and renovated the intire cabin.
